For some reason, I was really nervous going into this year’s Inktober challenge. Maybe because I built it up in my mind? Or because I posted a bunch of stuff about it in this blog already?! Or maybe because I was approaching it as one cohesive project? I don’t know. But I’m feeling much better about it now – I’m in the groove!
I’m sticking to my “one hour a day = success” rule that I decided on up front, and I’m primarily working on this first thing in the morning before I head off to work. The later in the day it gets, the harder it seems to be to do it! And despite the super early hour, drawing has been a fulfilling way to start my days.
Saturday was surprisingly the hardest day to sit down and work on it. I wasn’t able to get to it until the evening. After a damp day of sitting in the rain watching the Badgers play (which was fun until we were soaked and freezing!), I was ready to be cozy, dry and lazy! But I forced myself to sit down, set the timer, and forge ahead. After 10 minutes, I was enjoying it. Just sitting down in the first place can be the hardest part sometimes!
How is everyone’s Inktober going? Regardless of how many drawings you’re getting done, I hope you’re enjoying the process when you’re able to work on it! I’d love to hear how you’re doing in the comments below.
